EDI/Application Specialist Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a EDI/Application Specialist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Continually update technical knowledge and skills by attending in-house and/or external courses, reading manuals and accessing new applications;
- Work closely with employees and software vendors to ensure continuous development;
- Provide day-to-day technical and functional assistance to end users;
- Consult colleagues concerning the maintenance and performance of software systems and with a view to writing or modifying current operating practices;
- Maintain systems by monitoring and correcting software defects;
- Investigating new technologies;
- Provide development lead for EDI development projects supporting the business throughout;
- Create technical specifications and test plans;
- Follow company procedures to help create and maintain relevant documentation;
- Assistance during test phases of development supporting internal colleagues;
- Write operational and process flow documentation;
- Design, development and implementation EDI interfaces including testing and documentation;
- Integrate existing software products and work on ensuring incompatible platforms come together;
- Mapping data with external partners and our inhouse systems;
- Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience; and.
Requirements:
- Experience using/deploying Altova Mapforce and Mapforce Server an advantage;
- Understanding of API;
- Excellent understanding of EDI (EDIFACT/X12/XML, etc);
- Good Understanding of Microsoft SQL and MySQL;
- SSRS.
