QC Manager

The QC Manager proposes corrective actions to improve compliance with quality specifications. Manages the inspection and testing of materials, parts, and products to ensure adherence to established quality standards. Being a QC Manager requires a bachelor’s degree. Recommends new or improved quality control methods, procedures, and/or standards. In addition, QC Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The QC Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Our company is looking for a QC Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent the QC department in cross-functional teams;
  • Track progress and ensure on-time closure of CAPAs, deviations, change controls and OOS investigations;
  • Ensure a high level of GMP and health & safety compliance;
  • Oversee the daily operations of the QC laboratory, ensuring that it operates in a well controlled and efficient manner;
  • Develop weekly batch release and stability testing and ensure the schedule is successfully executed;
  • Manage team member performance and absence;
  • Ensure new and existing staff are continuously trained and associated training records are maintained;
  • Manage continuous improvement projects to ensure that milestones and targets are met;
  • Work with production, customer services and the stability team to agree release and stability testing priorities;
  • Participate in customer and regulatory inspections;
  • Ensure that laboratory equipment/instrumentation is maintained in a calibrated/qualified state;
  • Support new products delivery, e.g., by performing method transfer, implementation of new methods of analysis and specifications;
  • Lead and motivate the team to achieve a high-performing department;
  • Measure and track KPIs.

Requirements:

  • Experience within a biological setting would be highly desirable;
  • Be educated to BSc level within a scientific related subject;
  • A strong personal presence with excellent leadership, interpersonal and relationship building skills;
  • Ensure department compliance to cGMP through continual review and self-auditing against the relevant guidelines;
  • Support and critically review method and equipment validation activities;
  • Any other reasonable duties as identified by management;
  • Experience of all key analytical techniques and analytical method development;

  • Develop and manage technical agreements held with 3rd party service providers including external testing laboratories;
  • Excellent computer skills, experience with Microsoft office essential;
  • Auditing skills and / or lead auditor trained;
  • Relevant Skills, Education and Experience:Essential: Sound written and verbal communication skills;
  • Support company 1st, 2nd and 3rd party audit activities;
  • Degree Qualification in a Science Discipline.
