Senior Building Surveyor Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Building Surveyor to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Liaise with loss adjusters, assessors and clients to confirm the nature and extent of the works;
- Report weekly/monthly progress to all involved parties;
- Attend meetings with loss adjusters, assessors and clients;
- Tender works;
- Prepare a tender report and recommendations to client;
- Dilapidation Liability Assessment Reports on behalf of Landlord and Tenant;
- Party Wall Duties;
- Condition surveys on their portfolio of properties;
- Prepare and present outline design proposals, including preparation of budget estimate costs;
- Dilapidations;
- Submit applications for statutory approvals, including Planning, Listed Building Consent and Building Control Approval;
- Receiving Client instructions and agreeing fee proposals for various projects and professional surveying instructions;
- Dilapidation negotiations;
- Carry out measured surveys of existing buildings or sites;
- To work with service managers and team leaders to allocate cases to the Home Improvement Technical Team.
Requirements:
- Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS);
- Ensure buildings conform to the latest building regulations and technical standards;
- At least 3 years’ post MRICS experience with provable technical delivery experience;
- Supervision of building work on site;
- Ability to win or bring work would be highly advantageous;
- To develop Building Surveying work in London encompassing commercial and public sector;
- Building Surveys – Condition; Defect reports and Pre-acquisition;
- A thorough knowledge of Party Wall work is essential. A working knowledge of Health and Safety, CDM roles and asbestos legislation is also required;
- 2 Years post qualification experience in a similar position;
- Experience in Health and Safety procedures (CDM);
- Building Surveying degree (RICS Accredited);
- Manage the delivery of construction works;
- Dilapidations (for both L & T);
- UK Driving license;
- Contract Administration experience (JCT / NEC).
