Maintenance Assistant Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Sourcing materials from local suppliers and manufacturers;
- Fabric repairs – including reseals and regrouting to bathroom areas, painting and general repairs;
- Completing a variety of tasks throughout the property including carpentry, tiling, and general repairs;
- Basic plumbing & basic electrics;
- Water checks – including shower head cleaning and repairs, flushing regimes, tap cleaning and temperature taking;
- To comply with all current regulations in connection with all works and duties undertaken;
- Learn minor work of assistants in other trades as required;
- To assist when required with any project work within the department;
- Be able to use relevant tools & equipment, with training if required;
- To give full co-operation to any clients and colleagues requiring assistance;
- To carry out any reasonable duty as requested by management;
- Ensure air-conditioning is working to satisfy client needs;
- To assist other members of the maintenance team;
- Conform to the requirements of the Health and Safety Work Act;
- Keep the technical library updated at all times with regard to PPM and emergency breakdowns.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of current Building Regulations;
- Strong communication skills;
- NVQ, C&G or equivalent in a trade skill;
- IT literacy, Health & Safety and the ability to conduct first level fault-finding;
- Previous appropriate working experience or training, in skills development, including the safe use of tools and equipment;
- Good planning and organisational skills are required;
- Understand requirements of working in an environment similar to that found in health care premises (Desirable);
- Report to Maintenance Manager;
- Complete the daily job list and Preventative Maintenance Plan;
- Experience in one or more building trades including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting/ decorating or general building maintenance.
