Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining an approved suppliers’ database including annual supplier checks;
- Develop tender strategies, contract tendering, contract award, contract management and supplier performance management;
- Contributing to the identification and resolution of procurement risks and issues;
- Provide analysis on costs and capture and track savings;
- Identify suitable suppliers for specific projects;
- Supporting the procurement with consideration to budget, delegations and policy;
- Track the delivery of project through milestones to completion;
- Advising stakeholders within the organisation on procurement matters;
- Run sourcing events;
- Clarify client requirements and develop specifications;
- contribute to performance reviews to ensure contract compliance;
- Ensuring value is added across contracts;
- Building stakeholder and supplier relationships;
- Executing tenders from cradle to grave;
- Overseeing and establishing procurement processes.
Requirements:
- Membership or working towards membership of MCIPS;
- Knowledge of current UK and European procurement legislation;
- Ability to remain calm and cope with the unexpected;
- Adaptable to change and embrace innovation and creativity;
- Experience working with stakeholders;
- Good organisational skills and effective time management;
- A degree and/or professional qualification relevant to the post;
- An understanding of public sector compliance rules;
- Strong numerical and analytical skills;
- Excellent project management and report writing skills;
- Negotiation skills at a business level;
- Willingness to undertake travel;
- Experience of successfully delivering on multiple projects in a fast paced and complex environment;
- Experience in continuously developing and improving own delivery to achieve efficiencies and introduce innovation.
