Production Engineer

Research, design, develop, or test electronic components and systems for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use employing knowledge of electronic theory and materials properties. Our company is looking for a Production Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and appraising job results and process development;
  • Delivering the agreed sampling targets;
  • Work alongside the Production Manager to implement improvements to support growth;
  • Overseeing and supporting production changes, tool changes, automation, robotics and machine troubleshooting;
  • Provide Capex reports with justifications;
  • Be involved in cross-functional project teams in improving the efficiency of the manufacturing process;
  • Owning the BOMs from an engineering and process aspect;
  • Analysis of process data;
  • To ensure the continued efficient production of the product by monitoring and modifying the production process and dealing with short term issues;
  • Attend client sites to support with products;
  • Run CIP to solve known issues working with stakeholders across Engineering and Operations;
  • The occasional need to provide cover for shift-based Production Engineers or travel to suppliers within the UK and abroad;
  • Produce and amend programs for all CNC machines using CAM systems and produce associated set-up sheets and tooling lists;
  • This role will involve the maintenance of the routine equipment including the continuous improvement of line setup and balance;
  • Co-ordinate subcontracts.

Requirements:

  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 kgs;
  • Competent in programming CNC machine tools, using CAM;
  • HNC in Production Engineering – Essential;
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of metal cutting, turning and milling/drilling;
  • Demonstrable experience of process planning products through the manufacturing processes;
  • Calm under pressure;
  • ability to prioritise;
  • Project engineering experience;
  • Experience in manufacturing, automotive, airports, FMCG, distribution or similar;
  • Degree or 5 years’ experience;
  • Experience in areas such as mechanical structures, plastics moulding, functional safety, conveyor systems, electromechanical systems or robotics;
  • Must be computer literate, proficient in Microsoft office applications and Computer Aided Design;
  • Field installation of products or systems;
  • A great understanding in engineering;
  • A & T / Repair and Overhaul experience.
