Our company is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer – Rail to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Proven ability to write accurate, clear, high quality reports in English;
  • Essential Skills and Knowledge;
  • Able to manage your own time to meet project deadlines and budget targets;
  • Resolving technical issues;
  • Help to develop the production of drawings, reports and specifications;
  • Experience of working in the UK rail industry with good working knowledge of Network Rail Grip process / standards and approval processes;
  • Becoming familiar and compliant with relevant Health, Safety and Welfare regulations and to promote SHEW culture within your team;
  • Supervision and technical development of junior engineering team members;
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by your manager or Arcadis;
  • Gaining experience and proficiency in Arcadis systems and procedures;
  • Designing in 3D modelling environments such as AECOSim, Revit and Civil 3D;
  • Building relationships with Clients on projects;
  • Taking a lead role in the resolution of technical issues;
  • Preparation of technical outputs to the highest standards in accordance with the Capita’s quality management system;
  • Becoming familiar and compliant with relevant Health, Safety and Welfare regulations and to promote Capita’s SHEW culture within your team.

Requirements:

  • Proven ability to write accurate, clear, high quality reports in English;
  • Able to manage your own time to meet project deadlines and budget targets;
  • Engineering degree in a relevant discipline;
  • UK Driving Licence is desirable;
  • Ability to respond to Project Manager and Client requests and meet challenging deadlines;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • PTS qualification desirable;
  • Around 3 years’ experience working in the rail sector;
  • Experience of working in the UK rail industry with good working knowledge of Network Rail Grip process / standards and approval processes;
  • Previously worked on projects through Network Rail Grip stages 1-3;
  • Experience in relevant forms of design software;
  • Has designed and qualified civil engineering deliverables;
  • Minimum 6 years of Railway Civils experience gained on projects such as stations, depots or lineside Civils etc;
  • Experience in the use of Eurocodes;
  • Ideally Chartered Civil Engineer or equivalent experience.
