Senior Development Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Development Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Support Sales to ensure timely and effective response to customer enquiries;
- Identify and develop new business opportunities;
- Support Quality in investigations, corrective actions, assessments and process improvements, where appropriate to new product developments;
- Representing the company in product development meetings with customers both on and off site;
- Leading product development activities from concept through to customer acceptance;
- Develop, maintain, document and improve product specifications, test equipment and test methods;
- Develop and improve methods and procedures to enhance and assess the performance of the system (interaction of mechanics, control and electronics);
- Managing technology development activities, including proof of concept trials and development and qualification activites;
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technical support staff.
Requirements:
- Strong skills in developing algorithms;
- Strong skills in experimental design and analysis;
- Proactive and self-managing with experience of working on multiple products;
- A degree in Engineering/Physical Science;
- Experience in mentoring more junior engineers;
- Over 5 years’ experience in industry, ideally developing, transferring and commercialisation technology;
- Experience of communicating, leading a team, running customer projects, making decisions as a member of a team of highly skilled engineers.
