Our company is looking for a Head of English to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- to identify and set appropriate improvement and attainment targets for individual students, groups of students and the Department;
- to provide strategic leadership for the development, monitoring and evaluation of the Department’s curriculum;
- to monitor and evaluate progress towards targets identifying and implementing suitable intervention strategies for individuals and groups of students;
- to build an effective team to raise attainment and implement appropriate change;
- Facilitate and encourage learning which enables students to achieve high standards;
- Writing and implement individual education plans, making assessments of educational attainment, setting challenging yet achievable targets;
- Creating an environment which is stimulating and purposeful for all pupils to promote teaching and learning outside the formal classroom settings;
- Framing and implementing ambitious subject plans and targets;
- Preparing, planning and assessing teaching sessions whilst maintaining an awareness of curriculum developments;
- Build relationships with all young people, which will encourage their interest and participation in their education;
- Developing the use of high-quality resources for learning. Tracking student progress effectively;
- Developing best practice in teaching, learning and assessment with a focus on implementing High Performance;
- Learning (HPL)Embedding outstanding teaching which maximises student outcomes.
Requirements:
- Head of English;
- The ability to build a good working rapport with students and staff;
- Secondary Teacher;
- Experience of leadership within a whole school or department setting;
- The drive towards excellence in teaching and learning;
- Experience of teaching English across KS3 and KS4.
