Electro Mechanical Fitter Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Electro Mechanical Fitter to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Must be methodical and accurate and make notes and reports during the disassembly process;
- Undertake works to a high standard on a first-time fix basis where possible;
- Work independently as well as part of a team;
- Inspect and disassemble rotating machines including electric motors;
- Use of Rotor Alignment tools, megger, fluke, bearing scrapper, micrometres and Vernier callipers;
- Submission of daily and weekly paperwork accurately and on time;
- Accurately assess damage and wear on electric motors and other machines;
- This role would also require site project support and emergency work to be carried out (overnight) as and when required;
- Can utilise milling Machines, Grinders, Lathes and other machinery;
- Carry out basic electrical testing to establish machine condition.
Requirements:
- Inspection of machinery;
- 17th or 18th Edition;
- Electrical Qualification;
- Knowledge of engineering drawings;
- Assemble machine to Quality Assurance standards in a timely manner;
- Availability to travel for short durations as and when required for specific site work;
- Experience of rotating equipment as well as route cause analyses and measuring;
- Hold a qualification in Mechanical Engineering either C&G or NVQ equivalent;
- Use industry equipment correctly and safely during the repair process;
- A good attitude to personal safety and site safety in-house and on customer sites;
- Testing functions (PAT preferred);
- Trained in Hazardous area (ATEX/Ex) and holds an inspection certificate would be an advantage but not essential;
- Prepare all parts and assemble to the required standards and ready for test run;
- Full driving licence would be an advantage;
- Previous experience within a Mechanical / Electrical environment.
