Our company is looking for a Workshop Technician to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of component piece parts ready for production assembly;
  • Termination of various electrical joints;
  • To support with any other ad-hoc tasks where required;
  • Test and check the quality of all products;
  • Using moulds and various materials;
  • Assembling connector parts accurately;
  • Operating the field robots (requiring travel) when staff shortages;
  • Servicing and Repairing a range of Equipment;
  • Sending equipment to site;
  • Perform quality assurance on subsystems and new robots;
  • Demonstrate and train new personnel on equipment;
  • Using build instructions, build or upgrade elements of robots, and acting as an extra pair of eyes on builds and upgrades;
  • Carrying out risk assessment;
  • Maintain and clean equipment in accordance with standards;
  • Carry out experiments as designed by HW or Research team, collecting data, recording, and analysing it.

Requirements:

  • Good dextrous skills for intricate hand work;
  • Ability to interpret simple wiring and engineering drawings and instructions;
  • Previous experience working with transfer moulding techniques including material preparation and post mould clean up;
  • Own transport to travel to site as this is not accessible by public transport;
  • Ability to use a range of mechanical and electronic inspection equipment;
  • Previous experience in the production and assembly, with soldering experience being desirable;
  • Highest level of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Full UK driving license;
  • Associate level or above in a science discipline;
  • Forklift certification;
  • Good grades in Mathematics, Science and English at least at school level;
  • Health & Safety and/or First Aid training.
