Application Security Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Application Security Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with CS, product management, and other teams at Shape to engineer innovative security solutions;
- Empower Shape’s CS team out in the field through tooling, training, and engineering support;
- Troubleshoot problems in distributed systems;
- Analyze web applications, dig into JavaScript and browser networking, diagnose application-level problems with the Shape client.
Requirements:
- Strong coding skills;
- Experience in data encryption and secure communications;
- Experience analyzing network traffic for attacks;
- Experience with web development, including client-side and server-side frameworks;
- Troubleshooting experience related to networking and web application development;
- Understanding of secure coding practices;
- Proficiency with the Linux command line;
- Experience in application and network security;
- Working knowledge of HTTP and the TCP/IP stack;
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
