Our company is looking for a Caseworker to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Drafting responses to constituents;
  • Getting to know and understand local issues so that local knowledge is reflected in case handling;
  • Gathering relevant information to assist with resolving cases;
  • General office administration and support;
  • Attending surgeries and other meetings as appropriate;
  • Dealing with queries from members of the public;
  • Retaining records and information confidentially and in line with the Data Protection Act;
  • Acting as the first point of contact for constituents; taking phone calls and answering the office door;
  • Monitoring progress of existing cases, ensuring all identified actions are taken and using a database to track each case;
  • Acting for the client where necessary, calculating value of claims, negotiating, drafting letters and telephoning;
  • Contacting referred clients to explore their situation and issues, and decide on their next steps;
  • Taking responsibility for developing your knowledge within your specified area, and ensuring your knowledge is always up to date.

Requirements:

  • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and discretion in your work;
  • Ability to manage a busy workload and balance competing priorities effectively;
  • Excellent written communication skills;
  • An appreciation of the importance of attention to detail and a thorough approach to completing all tasks;
  • Organisational, case management and time management skills.
