Our company is looking for a Deputy Nurse Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Manager to produce and maintain systems and procedures for auditing and assuring quality of care provided by the home;
  • Administer and order medicines as required by the home in accordance with the homes’ policies and procedures;
  • Undertaking risk assessments;
  • Ensuring care plans are correctly updated and taking the lead on care planning;
  • Coordinating and managing the care and nursing staff, including supervisions and appraisals;
  • Undertaking assessments for new/prospective and existing residents;
  • Assessing and responding to clinical risk, and having a good understanding of the regulatory framework;
  • Work within the NMC codes of conduct and scope of practice and within the homes’ policies and procedures;
  • Ensure confidentiality regarding all aspects of care and management of the home is maintained;
  • Provide support and professional supervision to care staff and nursing staff as appropriate;
  • Ensure effective communication with relatives and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements:

  • Conducting clinical training sessions such as PEG, Medication, Epilepsy, Buccal, etc;
  • Clinical supervision will be provided;
  • Prior experience as a Deputy Manager;
  • Self-motivated and flexible;
  • Liaising with clients, their families and other healthcare professionals;
  • NMC registration and active nursing PIN;
  • Monitoring, recording and reporting changes in clients’ conditions;
  • Completion of relevant audits;
  • Helping to prepare for CQC and other inspections;
  • Maintaining accurate detailed reports, records and documents;
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills;
  • A proven ability to work as part of a team;
  • In partnership with the Referrals Manager, liaise with potential referrers and complete pre-support assessments for potential new clients;
  • Completing clinical supervisions, competency assessments and identifying training needs for our Support Workers;
  • Ability to contribute to, monitor and implement changes that improvement service delivery and outcomes for residents.
