EMEA Financial Controller Job Description Template

Our company is looking for a EMEA Financial Controller to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Team management and motivation;
  • External stakeholder management including banks, auditors and key suppliers;
  • Review commission and bonus payments;
  • Business partnering with operational managers across Europe to help identify profit improvement opportunities;
  • Maintain companies fixed assets;
  • Month end close including journal entry and financial statement preparation;
  • Oversee payroll and vacation accounting for the UK entity;
  • Final review of expenses across UK and Swiss entities, working closely with FP&A to compare versus budget and forecast;
  • Own and drive improvements with the monthly/quarterly and annual close(s) to tight deadlines and assist with reporting to the US parent;
  • Manage and be a great mentor to grow an accounting team;
  • Manage annual audits, filings, taxes, and corporate accounting activities;
  • Manage in country bank relationships and controls;
  • Manage all Financial compliance for the region including new market documentation and financial operational execution;
  • Adhoc Group reporting as required;
  • Report monthly actuals versus Business Unit and Cost center by region.

Requirements:

  • US GAAP experience in a software/technology environment (highly desirable);
  • Strong financial systems skills;
  • Experience in a similar role;
  • Background within the finance functions of a European technology company;
  • Shared Service Centre Experience;
  • Strong understanding of financial controls;
  • ACCA/CIMA or ACCA Qualified;
  • Team management experience.
