Our company is looking for a Principal Statistician to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of the CTU’s research portfolio so that it may be categorised as internationally excellent;
  • Oversee all grant applications relating to methodology;
  • Responsible for the development of the Unit’s statistical strategy and policy in line with the strategic and operational objectives;
  • Disseminate and publish results (both as lead author and principal statistical author) of research in high quality, leading, peer-reviewed journals;
  • Report on the performance of the Statistics team with reference to key performance indicators as required;
  • Ensure that all outputs are routinely evaluated against expectations;
  • Represent NWORTH within research networks in Wales, UK and the wider clinical trial community;
  • Support study and/or compound level activities advising on study design and statistical issues across phases and therapeutic areas;
  • Line management of statisticians, programmers and other technical staff. Accountable for overall performance of direct reports;
  • Maintain the security of research data obtained and observe confidentiality at all times regarding participants and their involvement;
  • Drives the development and evolution of project, therapeutic area, and global standards;
  • Build effective collaborative working relationships with internal and client team members;
  • Maintain study master file documents and any other documents that are required to be audit ready People Management;
  • Present study updates internally and at client meetings;
  • Perform work in full compliance with applicable internal and client policies, procedures, processes and training.

Requirements:

  • Awareness of industry and project standards & ICH guidelines;
  • MSc or PhD in Statistics/Biostatistics (or equivalent);
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Understanding of clinical drug development process, relevant disease areas, endpoints and different study designs;
  • Self-management skills with a focus on results for timely and accurate completion of competing deliverables;
  • Proficiency in data handling using SAS or other statistical software (e.g. R);
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of projects and/or people Competitive salary;
