Our company is looking for a Commercial Account handler to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the handling of claims;
  • Provide appropriate advice on suitable policies and risk management;
  • Handle day to day enquiries, renewal inviting, retention and policy management;
  • Whilst you’ll be based in Twickenham, your clients will be based around the UK, so there will naturally be an element of travel involved in this role;
  • Assist in providing Comprehensive insurance service to both existing and new business customers;
  • To provide insurers and underwriters with accurate information to ensure they can assess each risk correctly;
  • To comply at all times with FCA regulatory requirements and in particular ICOB rules;
  • To ensure customer credit is within agreed company limits at all times;
  • work alongside the Commercial Director and Account Executives to provide high quality insurance broking service;
  • To handle day to day queries from clients and act as point of contact;
  • To liaise with colleagues to share information about the current insurance marketplace, and to assist them with any insurance queries;
  • Handle client queries and process MTAs;
  • Working with an exec on new business opportunities and renewals;
  • Dealing with premiums ranging from £10,000 and exceeding £50,000;
  • Managing the renewal process.

Requirements:

  • Educated to GCSEs or equivalent, supported with a minimum of 5 grades C or above including English and Mathematics;
  • Good customer relations, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Good planning and organisational skills;
  • Hold the Cert CII qualification and be prepared to undertake the DipCII;
  • IT skills – including MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook and ideally experience of using the Acturis system;
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices and legalities of General insurance;
  • A good technical understanding of commercial lines ideally with some motor fleet;
  • Organisation, accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Passion, energy and a strong customer service ethos;
  • An ability to effectively manage your own workload;
  • Previous experience of using the Acturis trading platform would be helpful but isn’t essential;
  • Experience of working in a commercial broking environment;
  • A client-centric approach;
  • A minimum of 2 years commercial insurance experience;
  • Commercial lines market experience, preferably from an insurance broker background.
