Senior Claims Handler Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Claims Handler to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure documents are stores according to audit requirements;
- Maintaining claim files;
- Maintaining accurate records on Claims system;
- Achieve personal and department performance targets;
- Be flexible within the role to undertake other duties as assigned by your Team Manager;
- Monitoring the credit hire period and providing both insurers and clients with regular updates on the progress of their claim;
- Making all liability enquires necessary to allow you to negotiate settlement of customer claims on the best possible terms;
- Liaising with vehicle repair garages in obtaining updates on client vehicle repairs;
- Liaise with Clients regarding settlement of complex/high value cases;
- Identification and resolution of potential fraud, repudiation and voidance;
- Manage the teams daily diaries;
- Liaising with insurance companies for the instruction of their engineer and obtaining settlement of the clients’ vehicle damages;
- Manage sensitive, complex claims arising from Motor/Property/SME/Agri lines of business;
- Review engineers report/vehicle damages;
- Using your extensive knowledge of case law or other information to negotiate with insurance companies regarding liability.
Requirements:
- Good IT Skills in particular MS Office package;
- Exposure to MOJ Portal;
- Ability to capture and resolve all complaints appropriately;
- Ability to work autonomously and follow defined processes;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Experienced in Third Party Property Damage, Credit Hire Defence and Uninsured Loss Recovery;
- Previous experience as a Property Claims Handler / Claims Adjuster ESSENTIAL;
- Good standard of education;
- Previous experience with High Net Worth Insurance Claims;
- Good attention to detail and the ability to prioritise workloads;
- Previous insurance administration experience;
- Experience of Personal Lines preferred in particular HNW property claims;
- Good understanding of Claims Systems;
- Good understanding of the broker and client operational environment;
- Awareness of the impact of regulations and FSA.
