Tax Assistant Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Tax Assistant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare draft bills for partners;
- Complete timesheets;
- Maintain Global Tax compliance calendar;
- Support the team with ad-hoc tasks;
- Prepare/update territory summaries in real time;
- Generate all tax reports in preparation of the tax filings for the regional offices;
- Ensure proposed tax return submissions are submitted on a timely basis;
- Collating information for tax returns;
- Work closely with the tax and compliance accountant to update the regulatory requirements for the Accounts and Billing Teams;
- Reconciling the tax accounts for each office;
- Assess the controls periodically and suggest changes in line with changing legislation;
- Preparation of Self-Assessment tax returns for non-UK resident partners;
- To undertake the scanning of documentation as and when required;
- To proactively manage their own personal study to improve their knowledge and technical abilities;
- To perform tax administrative duties for the office.
Requirements:
- Ability to work well in a team environment;
- Well presented with a professional level of communication – both verbal and written;
- Experience in either accounting or tax is advantageous but not imperative;
- 25 days holiday;

- Ideally worked in the finance team of a Law Firm/Professional Services environment;
- IT skills – strong working knowledge of MS Excel, other MS products and similar desktop applications. Willingness to learn new systems is essential.
