Shift Engineer / Facilities Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Shift Engineer / Facilities Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order at all times;
- Make sure up to date logs are kept;
- Make sure Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared and used for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices;
- These reactive calls to also include concessionary stores and fabric related items;
- Be able to work at heights;
- A team player, able to work with CBRE Managed Services and clients representatives at all levels;
- To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works;
- To operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with Quality, Health & Safety procedures and client requirements (or approved client system);
- Physically fit and able to carry tools and components by hand up to 20kg;
- Make sure Computer Based Maintenance systems are kept up to date and that PPM and reactive tickets are closed out with accurate data captured;
- Undertake lone working when and where required, subject to passing satisfactory training;
- Ensure an awareness and compliance to the contractual KPI’s/SLA’s;
- Make sure routine PPM is carried out to all mechanical and electrical plant in accordance with Site task schedules and asset lists;
- Make sure suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works;
- Experience of working in a critical environment/data centre.
Requirements:
- Able to ascend and descend vertical access equipment;
- BMS Knowledge;
- Physically fit and able to carry tools and components by hand up to 20kg;
- Experience of maintaining all relevant mechanical and electrical equipment to clearly defined criteria;
- Mechanical knowledge and ideally good understanding of HVAC/Pumps/Valves/Electro-Mechanical systems etc;
- Ideally an Electrical background;
- Electrical/mechanical qualifications;
- Experience of working in a critical environment;
- Able to work at heights;
- Knowledge of UPS, Generators, HV, PDU’s, Crac units or equivalent;
- A good basic education is essential, with good written and spoken English and basic Mathematics skills;
- Calm manner, able to work under pressure.
