The Financial Accountant I ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Assists in maintaining financial records and ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded. Being a Financial Accountant I assists in analyzing current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Compiles financial data to aid more senior accountants in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. In addition, Financial Accountant I requires a bachelor’s degree. May require eligibility to sit for CPA exam. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Being a Financial Accountant I works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. Our company is looking for a Financial Accountant to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Annual budgets and forecasts;
  • Some more commercial elements of the business;
  • Assist with the budgeting and forecasting cycles;
  • Preparation of management reporting to key stakeholders, including detailed insights into profit, growth and expense reduction;
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports including stock reports, accrual reports, currency revaluations and balance sheet analysis;
  • Preparing financial information for cash flow and profit projections;
  • Assisting with preparation of the audit schedules and Statutory Accounts;
  • Manage month end management accounts for all balance sheets;
  • Responsible for managing and overseeing interim and year-end audit and liaising with external auditors;
  • Accounting systems and processes improvement;
  • Ensure that appropriate processes and systems are in place to provide support to operational areas;
  • Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports;
  • Balance sheet management;
  • Documenting policies and procedures;
  • Business partnering with budget holders for areas of cost responsibility.

Requirements:

  • Working experience of SAP system and intermediate excel skills (vlookup, pivot tables, sumifs;
  • Qualified or part qualified ACCA Accountant;
  • Good presentation skills;
  • Strong academic background – ideally 2:1 from a top University;
  • Good understanding of IFRS accounting standards;
  • Maintain a live risks and opportunities tracker for review;
  • Experience of complex reconciliations and contracts;
  • Must be qualified – ACA/CIMA/ACCA/CA/CAANZ;
  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in accounting, finance;
  • To always show a positive approach and “can do” attitude to the job role;
  • To instruct and manage the day-to-day workload of direct reports so that they are competent in all areas of the business pertinent to the job role;
  • Support for any internal and external audits;
  • Proven ability to effectively function in an environment with multiple priorities;
  • Provide cover for weekly EBITDA submissions;
  • To demonstrate time management and planning skills to ensure all deadlines are consistently met to the required standard.
