Our company is looking for a IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Acting as third-line technical support for relevant escalations from the service desk team;
  • Monitoring and managing the system to ensure it provides a quality service;
  • Working alongside other members of the team to help maintain their extensive IT infrastructure;
  • Proposing, designing and implementing enhancements to the system, based on requirements from stakeholders across the business;
  • Implementing new infrastructure services through project schedules and change management;
  • Administration of the virtual environment;
  • Develop and review systems architecture and security, reviewing new technologies and recommending improvements;
  • Flexibility to deal with out of hours issues on occasion;
  • Building and maintaining scalable, reliable and repeatable infrastructure;
  • Carrying out BAU tasks as needed;
  • Supporting infrastructure services through design and project briefs;
  • Interfacing with end users and external stakeholders to determine evolving needs;
  • Routine maintenance of infrastructure services such as firmware updates, system upgrades and virtual infrastructure management;
  • Interfacing with multiple internal stakeholders including Development, Projects, Test and Support teams;
  • Providing technical expertise on all IT related matters assisting the Infrastructure Team Leader where necessary.

Requirements:

  • Good A-levels and is educated to degree level, ideally within a Computer Science or Engineering discipline;
  • Several years of IT experience, with a good knowledge of basic networking principles and an understanding of enterprise IT technologies;
  • The ability to take on ownership of a project and work well on their own initiative;
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure monitoring;
  • Competent installing, configuring and maintaining services (Windows/Linux);
  • Patch deployment and software upgrades;
  • Networking Configuration;
  • Knowledge of EDI principles and configuration of SFTP, and digital certificates;
  • Experience of cloud platforms (Azure/ Amazon AWS);
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server and Linux (at least one advanced level);
  • SQL Server;
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, DFSR, Group Policy;
  • Experience with virtualisation tools (eg. VMWare/HyperV);
  • Strong knowledge of network design and implementation principles;
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies (Windows/Exchange).
