Our company is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Configuration and management of a range of IP network equipment from multiple vendors as required for ongoing operation of the service;
- Develop Cloud infrastructure project plan, technical specifications, design documents, roll-out and test plans;
- Proactive identification of potential issues in the network and subsequent implementation of corrective action plan;
- Managing the existing change, the control process for the operational GX/SEP network;
- Contributing to capacity planning and the development of processes to streamline this function;
- Adhere to Cloud access-management incident response and change control procedures;
- Assisting with escalations as requested by the service desk, network engineers or management;
- Setting-up, implementing and reviewing operational procedures to be used by the network centre Engineers and service desk staff;
- Contribute to mentoring junior staff and knowledge transfer to Cloud Services team;
- Planning and designing – preparing requirement design document that clearly specifies requirements to suppliers;
- Providing technical support and guidance to network engineers and field operations staff;
- Contribute to Cloud policies and process development using industry best practices;
- Providing training and knowledge transfer to other team members when new technology or systems are deployed to the network;
- Provide out of hours support to the NOC as part of the on-call operations engineering team;
- Liaising with network service providers, circuit and equipment providers regarding maintenance and fault issues.
Requirements:
- An understanding of change management processes;
- Knowledge of Palo Alto Firewalls, Checkpoint & Cisco Wireless Technologies;
- Working knowledge of Enterprise Datacenter environment;
- Excellent troubleshooting skills. Ability to rapidly identify and resolve issues under pressure;
- Cisco CCNA certification required. Checkpoint CCSA is a plus;
- LAN /WAN design, deployment and troubleshooting *essential;
- Compute, storage and virtualization technologies and their connectivity requirements;
- Voice and voice related services (CUCM, CME, voice recording);
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Knowledge of Checkpoint firewalls required;
- Experience in WAN/LAN networking including routing, switching, security, load balancing;
- Knowledge of Cisco network and UCS equipment required;
- JNCIP-SP;
- 5+ years IT experience with on-going skills development;
- Extensive Cisco networking background, specifically NX OS knowledge/exposure * essential.
