Our company is looking for a Workshop Controller to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • To liaise with all bodyshop Technicians and the Manager in respect of any quality issues;
  • To inspect damaged vehicles and assess the full extent of the damage sustained, assess the cost of repair and time scales;
  • Ensuring that all your working practices comply with company, DVSA, health and safety and manufacturer policy;
  • Providing estimates for servicing and repairs and setting timescales;
  • Assisting technicians with technical challenges and finding the right outcome;
  • Reporting into the Operations Manager;
  • Preparation of mechanics daily to schedule work programme;
  • Administration of job cards including managing of work performed, time allocation;
  • Initial assessment of defects;
  • Complying with Health and Safety regulations and ensuring the Workshop is a safe place to work;
  • Ensuring all associated administration is completed to a very high standard;
  • To lead, motivate and develop the workshop ensuring it is achieving the daily objectives;
  • Maintaining High Levels of Customer Satisfaction;
  • Supervising the team of Vehicle Technicians;
  • Allocating work to the technicians within the Workshop.

Requirements:

  • Communication skills;
  • Relevant experience in the automotive industry, including previous workshop control or technician roles;
  • The ability to lead by example and motivate your team to achieve their targets and deliver a high standard of work;
  • High levels of organisation and accuracy;
  • Ability to create more work opportunities and sales in an honest and compliant manner;
  • Quality awareness;
  • Full driving licence;
  • Experience in a main dealer environment;
  • Strong industry knowledge;
  • Good computer skills – Word and Excel;
  • Workshop experience;
  • Full UK driving licence;
  • Solid experience within Workshop Control, ideally within a dealer environment;
  • Ensure all work is completed timely and are accurate, managing the customer’s expectations at all times;
  • Make weekly maintenance checks on workshop equipment, i.e. compressor oil levels etc.
