Senior Healthcare Assistant Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain regular communication with the Home Manager;
- Medication administration;
- Assisting with activities of daily living and domestic duties;
- Creating and maintaining suitable records;
- Act as Senior Health Care Assistant which will include staff supervisions;
- Assisting in the delivery of personal care;
- Communicate effectively;
- Ensure health, safety and welfare of clients;
- Be responsible for administrating medication to the residents in accordance with policies and procedures;
- Be responsible for making and reporting realistic assessments of each resident to ensure continuity of care;
- Take an active professional role in promoting the services offered when dealing with relatives, prospective residents and enquiries;
- Administering medication;
- Participate in updating and writing care plans and resident documentation;
- Conduct formal supervisions and appraisals;
- Contributing to care planning and coaching care assistants.
Requirements:
- Minimum 12 months full-time or equivalent leading a staff team/ shifts in a residential care setting with older people;
- Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or Level 2 and willing to work towards Level 3);
- A warm approachable personality;
- It is essential that any applicants have previous experience working within this area;
- It would be beneficial if the candidate has a portable DBS;
- Safe Handling of Medication experience;
- Good communication skills;
- Be qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent (or be willing to work towards);
- Various shift patterns available.
