Legal Counsel Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Legal Counsel to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, negotiate and manage day-to-day commercial agreements;
- Advising on matters in relation to competition law as well as property law;
- Full support on company secretarial matters;
- Some data protection and intellectual property matters;
- Review marketing materials to ensure that the business is in compliance with legal requirements;
- Provide legal advice to other members of the contracts team;
- Providing legal and strategic advice to the business in respect of a broad range of regulations, including AIFMD, UCITS, MIFID, BRRD;
- Advising and supporting infrastructure strategy, cloud strategy and product development;
- Reviewing and drafting policies and position papers in connection with regulatory proposals and industry initiatives;
- Supporting project teams on IP matters, data protection matters and procurement matters;
- Providing advice on compliance issues on an ad-hoc basis;
- Commercial contracts;
- Corporate and regulatory/compliance experience would be an advantage;
- Draft review and update employment documentation including letters, policies and any other as required on specific cases;
- Providing accurate and timely advice on matters of regulation and policy to colleagues.
Requirements:
- Qualified as an attorney at law;
- Experience working with commercial contracts as well as competition law;
- 3-5 years of experience as a practicing attorney and/or in a similar in-house role with a financial services provider;
- Excellent negotiation and drafting skills;
- 3-5+ year experience, ideally both at a law firm and in-house;
- Strong experience in drafting/negotiating cross-border contracts;
- Trained with a highly regarded law firm or in-house;
- Experience of the Pharmaceutical Sectors beneficial;
- Interpersonal skills;
- Private Medical Insurance with VitalityHealth;
- Commercially astute, highly organised and self-motivated;
- Solicitor or barrister with 2-5 years post qualification experience;
- Meets deadlines and responds to requests in a timely manner;
- As Legal Counsel, you must have at least 3-5 years’ experience within a similar role;
- Inquisitive and solutions-oriented mindset.
