Commercial Finance Manager Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Commercial Finance Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Production of monthly / quarterly management accounts and detailed reporting packages across the business and underlying investments;
- Participation in peer and other assurance visits as relevant;
- Continuously seek to develop existing processes and practices;
- Providing clarity on key financial risks and opportunities and articulate key financial levers;
- Provide leadership and direction to the wider finance team;
- Manage close working relationship with Vendors and Third Parties ensuring business needs are met and cost saving opportunities are recognised;
- Identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for business improvements;
- Be the financial support for setting up account strategy;
- Weekly sales and margin reporting;
- Responsible for tax and regulatory compliance;
- Reviewing of site acquisition appraisals;
- Consolidated Group business plan analysis;
- Performing adequate checks on the accuracy and completeness of financial models;
- Have oversight of current month end processes to improve timeline of the process, accuracy and efficiencies;
- Development and maintenance of budgeting and planning tools.
Requirements:
- The ability to adapt to new environments;
- IT literate and ideally within SAP, Microsoft Office;
- Experience in investment appraisal or M&A/Corporate Finance;
- Demonstrable experience in continuous improvement and driving financial performance;
- Proven ability to scope and deliver projects;
- Strong computer skills including Excel and ERP software;
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA);
- Management accounting background preferred;
- Previous experience working in a business with a group structure (desirable);
- Strong analytical ability and forecasting skills with strong attention to detail;
- Experience of analysing and conveying complex ideas to non-finance colleagues;
- Commercial experience / experience of support operations/management teams;
- Confident at challenging decisions at a senior management level;
- ACA/CIMA Qualified;
- Previous experience at Financial Controller or Finance Manager level in a business of comparable size.
