Operations Manager

Plan, direct, or coordinate the operations of public or private sector organizations. Duties and responsibilities include formulating policies, managing daily operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources, but are too diverse and general in nature to be classified in any one functional area of management or administration, such as personnel, purchasing, or administrative services.

Our company is looking for a Operations Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the management of the production area, overseeing the packhouse, in loading, maintenance and technical managers, and 100 operatives;
  • Maintain and monitor staff, skill attributes, expectations and motivation to fulfil organisational requirements;
  • Ensuring that all risk assessments are up-to-date and points arising are embedded in standard operating procedures;
  • Lead and manage by example to ensure commitment, loyalty and high performance levels of all employees;
  • Drawing up management reports;
  • Delivery; on-time in full to customers;
  • Compliance; GDPR / Policies;
  • Monitor staff performance;
  • Be responsible for maintenance of infrastructure, plant and machinery;
  • Liaise with the Quality department on noise survey results, improvements and audiometric testing;
  • Managing the Banking Relationship Managers and Banking Operations Analysts;
  • Any other duties, as reasonably requested by the Branch Manager or the Business;
  • Sourcing alternative carriers and couriers;
  • Assist with managing budgets and controlling expenditure;
  • Managing office moves and ad-hoc projects alongside the Facilities team.

Requirements:

  • SAP experience would be highly desirable;
  • Calm under pressure;
  • Have experience of leading operational roles including Health & Safety, Asset Management, Procurement;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Commitment to delivering the ethos and values of Strive4 Academy Trust;
  • Excellent people and communication skills with a proven track record;
  • Take initiative and own tasks from conception to delivery;
  • A minimum of 5 years experiences in either feed, food or chemical manufacturing environments;
  • Exceptional organisation skills and ability to prioritise;
  • Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office applications;
  • Strong leadership and excellent problem-solving skills;
  • Works well under pressure and can meet strict deadlines;
  • Experience of overseeing a Goods In Department previously would be ideal;
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills;
  • Experience working on high profile, infrastructure projects.
