Technical Operations Manager Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Technical Operations Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership in DevOps philosophy and emerging trends;
- Champion collaborative working with the development and QA teams;
- Assure the physical and logical security of the Application & SLDC Servers comply with all regulations and policies;
- Ensure that all cloud operations are secure, resilient and reliable;
- Responsible for the operations budget of all cloud and 3rd party services;
- Monitor Operators performance, by setting targets and increasing their capabilities by providing training where necessary;
- Passionate about automation and Infrastructure as Code;
- Line manage the DevOps team members conducting regular 1-2-1 meetings and helping each team member meet their career objectives;
- Manage Warehouse and Service management and develop their processes within the department they oversee;
- Reviewing materials for the best and most cost effective use of them;
- Design and implement monitoring, configuration management and reporting functions for a controlled environment;
- Responsible for new Timber developments and products;
- Perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups;
- Support the overall service delivery of the team;
- Actively managing and contributing constructive ideas for the development of new Timber products with the design team.
Requirements:
- Git source control;
- Be motivated and results oriented even under pressure maintaining high quality support services to tight or immovable deadlines;
- Previous experience managing multi-location teams across multiple time zones;
- Define policies and processes related specifically to maintaining and improving support / delivery;
- DevOps tooling Puppet, PowerShell, Terraform, Bash;
- Directly manage work allocation, prioritisation and oversee quality of output to build successful delivery pipelines;
- You must be a hands on team manager with experience in IT Infrastructure / operations in a software development environment;
- Act as a team player; communicating and working effectively within a multi-skilled technical team and wider group;
- .NET Framework and ASP.NET web applications;
- Share knowledge across your team and build opportunities for individuals to grow and learn to satisfy demand;
- Octopus Deploy;
- Microsoft Azure Platform;
- Expert in Lean and the DevOps principles / movement.
