Principal Planner Job Description Template

Our company is looking for a Principal Planner to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Consult and liaise with the GLA, TfL and key politicians;
  • Working closely with Transport Planners, Environmental Consultants and Urban Designers;
  • Liaising with local authorities and clients;
  • Preparing, submitting and monitoring planning applications;
  • Manage and engage with external consultant teams undertaking studies research on behalf of the council;
  • Represent Council at committee and informal hearings;
  • Coordinate site visits with key stakeholders, community groups and the developer etc;
  • Facilitate close working relationships with internal teams in Design, regeneration and development;
  • Day-to-day project management;
  • Undertake complex pre-application meetings with key stakeholders, developers agent and architects etc;
  • Review EIA scoping reports;
  • Attending meetings and public consultations (if required).

  • Possession of a Bachelors Degree in Planning, Engineering, Life Science, Physical Science, Social Science, or related field;
  • Experience in applying conservation practices to development plans;
  • Experience in leading multi-stakeholder initiatives.
