Our company is looking for a Workshop Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage the maintenance and servicing of the fleet, ensuring vehicles comply with all statutory regulations;
  • Maintain depot plant and equipment, ensuing all external contract maintenance is carried out in line with contractual agreements;
  • Furniture;
  • Doorsets;
  • Managing a team of 5 staff and up to 2 apprentices;
  • Managing the maintenance and reliability of the machinery and infrastructure;
  • Developing and delivering upgrades to engineering systems and processes;
  • Induction of new employees;
  • Quality checking;
  • Develop, design and maintain procedures for the workshop;
  • Organising holidays and shift cover;
  • Supervising the maintenance of vehicles in workshop;
  • Negotiating with suppliers and parts department;
  • Indirect management of mechanics;
  • Managing a small team of skilled CNC Machinists.

Requirements:

  • Responsible for maintaining external supplier relationships;
  • Previous management experience;
  • Implementing safe working practices and security within the department;
  • Ensuring the service and repair Technicians achieve their daily targets;
  • Previous machinist experience beneficial (Haas, Hurco, Fadal);
  • Good communication skills;
  • Responsible for the daily control of the workshop to maintain a high level of productivity, quality and “right first time” repairs;
  • Covering for the Service Manager in their absence;
  • Engineering background.
