Our company is looking for a Assembly Technician to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicating effectively within the workplace;
  • Working on an assembly line;
  • Test production hydraulic units;
  • Working within a warehouse environment;
  • Assemble hydraulic components to production specifications using information from GA drawings and procedures;
  • Manual handling;
  • Adhering to all health and safety rules and regulations;
  • To assemble the Company’s range of products and test where required, in accordance with written assembly instructions;
  • Inform Cell Leader of any inaccuracies with production documentation immediately and suggest improvements where necessary;
  • Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping and safe working practices in the section having due regard to the Company’s Health and Safety policy;
  • Build and assembly of products;
  • Ensure that accurate and timely booking procedures are maintained and that all the relevant production documentation/records are processed correctly;
  • Inform the Cell Leader of any relevant problems which could affect achievement of the required output, with recommendations as to their solution;
  • Ensuring all equipment and tooling is functioning to achieve the required results for the operations undertaken;
  • Ensuring that all work produced meets the specified level of quality.

Requirements:

  • Broad experience of reading and interpreting engineering drawings is essential;
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing and 5S (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) process;
  • Soldering and basic electronic assembly;
  • Manual assembly including bonding and mechanical fastening;
  • 4+ GCSEs level C and above ( >4) including English and Maths, NVQ Level, International Vocational Certificate (IVQ) or similar;
  • Basic background in H&S policies and procedures;
  • Use of material handling equipment such as cranes, hoists and other lifting equipment;
  • Experience working with pressurised systems or hydrotest equipment would be advantageous;
  • Experience of hydraulic products is desirable;
  • Previous manufacturing experience working with electronic and mechanical assemblies;
  • Experience of working to production targets;
  • Good verbal and written skills.
