CNC Programmer Setter Operator Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a CNC Programmer Setter Operator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Set up the CNC machines to produce the required part as per drawing;
- Take accurate measurements of work pieces and ensure that the quality is good;
- Working from a drawing Program the CNC machine;
- This role involves multi axis machining ( 3 – 5 axis);
- Operate the CNC machine and analyse the processes and adjust as required, via Input control instructions into machine;
- Complete quality inspections to the authorised level;
- Examine and modify programmes;
- Set up tools and load materials onto the machine;
- Prove out processes, producing first-offs;
- Responsible for housekeeping of working area;
- Reporting to manager regarding tooling and material requirements;
- Setting and operating the machines;
- The CNC Programmer Setter Operator will be responsible for working various jobs that come in;
- Programming CNC Milling and Turning Machines;
- Completing work logs and time management.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a high precision manufacturing environment;
- Aerospace experience is preferred;
- Precision engineering experience;
- Most machines are 3 and 5 axis machines and therefore experience on 3 and 5 axis machines is highly advantageous;
- Good knowledge of program editing and G-codes;
- Must be able to operate a CMM machine and quality check your own parts;
- Good knowledge of set up and operation;
- The CNC Programmer Setter Operator should have experience either milling or turning;
- Must be experienced in 3,4 axis machining;
- Experience with heindenhain and Fanuc controls are essential;
- Must have previous CNC Turning experience;
- Have a good understanding of Health and Safety;
- Ability to read complex technical /engineering drawings with a good understanding of tolerances;
- Flexible approach to working hours;
- Must have background qualification in CNC machining with Milling and Turning.
