Laboratory Operative Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Laboratory Operative to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Use of forklift trucks;
- To maintain housekeeping of the Stores and storage areas to appropriate H&S standards;
- Receive and process stock deliveries ensuring storage in the correct locations;
- Maintain and organize laboratory consumable inventories;
- Stock consumption, ordering and counts;
- Maintenance of point of use (PoU’s) Kanban stores by daily replenishment;
- Maintenance and cleaning of a number of laboratory equipment and instruments including water baths as required;
- Sample dispatch under ADR regulations;
- To carry out all support activities in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines and local agreements;
- Assist customers through the provision of a counter service;
- Transportation and filling of liquid nitrogen vessels;
- Data entry and analysis using packages including excel if required;
- Receive and process ad hoc deliveries ensuring storage at correct temperatures;
- Clinical, hazardous and radioactive waste collection and storage;
- Transportation and changeover of laboratory gas cylinders.
Requirements:
- Ability to be flexible and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis;
- Experience working in a similar role (e.g. warehouse, cleanroom or similar);
- Able to collaborate with other teams and suppliers and deliver results;
- Proven excellent customer service focus and ability to work collaborativelyClear and concise written and spoken communication skills;
- Proficient in various IT systems particularly Microsoft Excel and SAP or similar stock management system experience (desirable);
- Self-motivated, energetic, dependable, a clear attention to detail.
