Our company is looking for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the training and development of other technical personnel and production operators;
  • Develop and progress a planned maintenance (PM) system for the site;
  • Flexibility in work hours to provide cover if required for holidays and sickness absence;
  • Be aware of the business continuity plan for the part of the business you work in;
  • Identify and repair faults on a continual basis to ensure Customer Service levels are maintained and premature MHE failures do not occur;
  • Continuously look to improve equipment efficiencies and cost reductions;
  • Provide technical support/input to projects and initiatives;
  • Responsible for fault diagnosis and problem solving;
  • PAT Testing;
  • Identify opportunities of improvement that will benefit the system function in terms of performance, safety, efficiency and provide a cost benefits;
  • Electrical & mechanical fault finding; effective fault diagnosis and repair for all plant and equipment on site;
  • General Carpentry;
  • Support the team initiative in developing planned maintenance using RCM (Reliability Centred Maintenance;
  • Inform Engineering Manager or Supervisor of any issue that cannot be resolved for more than half an hour;
  • Improvement suggestions regularly reviewed, analysed and implemented where appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Good IT skills;
  • Recognised engineering qualifications / substantial relevant experience;
  • A strong team spirit; a friendly, communicative team player with the ability to work well as part of a 6-person engineering team;
  • Previous client Facing experience;
  • A thorough approach to identifying and rectifying engineering issues;
  • Qualified to C&G or NVQ in a trade;
  • Willingness to participate in a shift rota and callout system;
  • Packaging Department experience would be desirable;
  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar role;
  • Understanding of mechanical production equipment i.e. pumps, centrifuges, pressure-reducing sets etc;
  • Calibration and instrumentation experience;
  • Food experience desirable;
  • Experience in working to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards and in a ‘clean room’ environment is preferable but not essential;
  • Post apprenticeship experience (with a mechanical bias) in a maintenance environment working on production / R&D equipment;
  • Must be Multi Skilled.
