Principal Civil Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Principal Civil Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Producing technical reports;
- Provide assistance to senior management in the preparation of technical and financial proposals;
- Contribute to work winning and preparation of bid documents;
- Inspection and assessment of bridges, retaining walls and other civil structures;
- Manage personal/team budgets and resources to achieve financial targets;
- Keep up to date with industry best practice and where appropriate apply best practice within the team environment;
- Act in the role of Contractor’s Responsible Engineer;
- Design delivery of new structures or strengthening schemes;
- Coordinating and ensuring the production of specification and drawings;
- Undertaking concept design, feasibility studies and preliminary design.
Requirements:
- Experience of structural analysis software such as Midas, Superstress and LUSAS;
- Effective communication skills in a Client facing role;
- Proven experience of delivering projects to time and budget;
- Proven experience of inspection, assessment and design of various structures;
- 10 years design experience in a range of civil engineering projects;
- The ideal candidate would be a Chartered Civil Engineer;
- Master’s degree qualification (or equivalent experience) in Civil Engineering or similar;
- Experience of Eurocodes, LU, TfL and Network Rail Standards.
