Quantity Surveyor – Civils Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Quantity Surveyor – Civils to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Performing Risk management, value management, cost control and cost reporting;
- Valuing Completed Work and preparing payments for approval;
- Advising on Procurement strategy;
- Preparing Tender & Contract Documents, including liaison with Consultants and Construction Team;
- Providing Advice on contractual claims and general contract admin;
- Ensure the timeous production of interim valuations and the preparation, submission and substantiation of Final Accounts;
- Ensure the management and control of sub-contract and suppliers accounts in line with agreed terms and conditions;
- Identifying and analysing commercial risks;
- Preparing claim documentation;
- Regularly and diligently report to the Commercial Manager to ensuring accurate and reliable commercial information is provided to management;
- Prepare and present relevant commercial and financial information;
- Ensure the implementation and provision of cost related information to measure the financial and physical performance of projects against set targets;
- Ensure professional presentation and that comprehensive supporting documentation is available;
- Preparing and analysing tenders;
- Identify, quantify and notify all Contract variations and prepare and maintain the Contract Change Control Register.
Requirements:
- Team Player;
- Full clean driving licence;
- Numerate;
- Proven track record of delivering high value construction projects ideally in the Civils sectors;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar discipline;
- Excellent analytical skills to make informed, balanced business decision and reporting findings to Clients and Stakeholders;
- Proficient in Causeway;
- Good judgement and decision making;
- Minimum of three year’s Quantity Surveying experience in Residential Developing and Commercial buildings;
- HND (or degree) in Quantity Surveying/Construction Management/Civil Engineering;
- Obtaining sub-contractor quotations, negotiating and agreeing final accounts;
- Organisational and time management skills;
- Qualified or working towards, MRICS / MCIOB / MICES;
- Comfortable interfacing with Senior Management and Stakeholders.
