Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Managing the Sub – Contractors;
- Lead and motivate the surveying team to maximise profit and deliver the business financial targets;
- Invoices management;
- Manage commercial performance against business targets and KPI’s;
- Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors;
- Oversee costs throughout each phase, including the management of variations, incentives and purchasers extras;
- Develop working relationship with Client’s team;
- Respond to contractual communications from client;
- Prepare and analyse costings for tenders;
- Preparation, negotiation and agreement of change events, extension of time claims, final accounts etc;
- General QS Duties;
- Preparation of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required;
- Obtainment, payment and management of subcontractors;
- Preparing and issuing out tender packages for sub-contractor’s and materials supplier’s;
- Maintaining project risk and opportunities schedule.
Requirements:

- 6 years + experience as a Quantity Surveyor on large scale construction projects;
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar discipline;
- Comfortable interfacing with Senior Management and Stakeholders;
- Proven track record of delivering high value construction projects ideally in the Build sector;
- Pension scheme up to 7.5%
- Experience working in a consultancy environment and delivering for clients on projects over £10M;
- Employers agent experience highly advantageous;
- 45 hour + working week;
- Previous experience of working within multiple sectors;
- Ensure subcontract accounts are managed within budgets and subcontracts/final accounts are signed and agreed in a timely manner;
- MRICS, preferably 2yr PQE.
