Finance Assistant Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Finance Assistant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain sales invoice database/source data;
- Maintain accurate records of sub-contractors- updating insurance files, self-billing agreements and Construction Industry Scheme verification records;
- To allocate gas and electricity contract costs;
- Preparation of monthly payroll;
- Create and send invoices;
- Dealing with invoice queries;
- Process AP invoices;
- Supporting with the production of the month end management accounts;
- Contracts and Work Order assistance;
- Assisting the UK Accountant;
- Identifying prepayments and recharges;
- To undertake banking as required;
- Processing employee expenses and car mileage;
- Maintaining records and ensuring documents are filed correctly, ordering stationary and ad-hoc duties;
- To apply control procedures as appropriate, contribute to the monitoring of the effectiveness and development of IT and other processing arrangements.
Requirements:
- Skilled in the use of SAGE and Quickbooks would be desirable;
- Retail experience is essential;
- Highly analytical and logically minded graduate;
- Experience of working in a similar finance environment;
- Demonstrable attention to detail skills and ability to apply a methodology for ensuring high level of accuracy;
- Knowledge of Payroll and CIS tax processes advantageous;
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent OR relevant experience;
- Experience using Navision would be beneficial;
- Numerate;
- Able to work on own initiative;
- Excellent organisational skills;
- Able to work independently and hit the ground running;
- Purchase Ledger Support;
- Good written and verbal communication skills;
- A finance qualification or strong academics is essential.
