Senior Finance Analyst Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Finance Analyst to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the profit and loss procedure and ensuring the P&L is understood by HOD’s;
- Ad-hoc analysis to support strategic decision-making;
- Produce and develop the monthly reporting packs;
- Providing insight into business information to contribute to the annual budget;
- Provide adhoc management information/analysis for stakeholders;
- Operational Business support;
- Safeguard and optimise gate fee revenues and to ensure contract terms are adhered to, including the application of annual indexation mechanisms;
- Day-to-day business support for business units with general finance enquiries and invoice approvals;
- Developing new financial models and supporting with any ad-hoc projects;
- Financial reporting & planning;
- Prepare monthly executive summary for senior stakeholders;
- Providing day to day support to the Group IR & Strategy Director and report on the changes in Group key performance indicators to senior management;
- Presentation of results to internal and external stakeholders;
- Work with finance teams to streamline and standardise month-end processes;
- Development – Lead the ongoing development of the companywide expense planning tool and projects impacting processes.
Requirements:
- Good understanding of expense allocation methodologies and their applications in meeting business requirements;
- Strong desktop skills – particularly Excel – with the ability to gather data from a number of complex systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness;
- Good verbal and written communication;
- A degree is desirable but not essential if comparable experience in an analytical finance role can be demonstrated;
- ACCA / CIMA finalist / newly qualified;
- A good understanding of the financial service sector, its key regulators and the nature of long term insurance business;
- Advanced Excel;
- Senior Finance Business Partnering/FP&A Experience Essential;
- Project Experience / awareness Essential;
- Insurance experience a definite advantage;
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA);
- Proven track record of general financial accounting principles;
- Proficient in the use of Excel;
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or finance related subject;
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified.
