Our company is looking for a Repairs and Maintenance Team Leader to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure your team is trained and developed to support the requirements of the contracts and to support the successful completion of their role;
  • Communicating and liaising with other Maintenance Operatives, Head Office staff, Line Manager, sub-contractors and possibly local authority staff;
  • Planning and managing personal business objectives in line with the Statement of Requirements (SOR) set out in the contracts;
  • Conducting hands on Maintenance Operative duties;
  • Pursuing personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role;
  • Effectively and promptly managing your team’s performance, both as a team and individually;
  • Being a role model for the company’s values, behaviours and ways of working;
  • Motivating and inspiring your team to deliver exceptional customer service;
  • Using management information and performance data to improve your team’s performance and results;
  • Creating an environment where your team are empowered to put the customer first and propose practical solutions;
  • Bringing the team together so you get the best out of them as a group – using all of their skills.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel across a large geographical portfolio on a daily/weekly basis;
  • Able to work well under pressure;
  • Previous property maintenance experience/knowledge at team leader level;
  • Excellent relationship building skills;
  • Good communication skills with the ability to influence, persuade and negotiate at all levels;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Ensuring targets are delivered;
  • Able to build strong relationships with other departments and customers;
  • Good problem solving skills;
  • An understanding of property maintenance would be an advantage;
  • Able to work under pressure;
  • Good writing skills;
  • The successful applicant will need a driving licence, their own van and tools. You will be required to undertake a DBS check before employment starts;
  • Able to successfully coach and develop your team;
  • Previous team leader/supervisory skills.
