Export Coordinator Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Export Coordinator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Liaise with Customers, Custom and Operations’ Departments ensuring all documents are received within the designated time frame;
- Liaise with customers to obtain information to ensure correct measures are in place and all customer needs are met;
- Ensure customers are fully informed of the progress of their shipments;
- Ensure correct documentation is on file and act accordingly as set out in the instructions;
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key customers to develop more business opportunities;
- Proactive promotion and demonstration of excellent customer service at all times;
- Manage the export process from start to finish;
- Use the most appropriate method of communication when being the first point of contact for all customers;
- Obtain all necessary information to ensure correct measures are in place and customer needs are met;
- Provide transport companies with the relevant information to ensure customer delivery requirements are met;
- Liaise between Suppliers, Forwarders and agents to obtain up to date shipment information;
- Obtain quotes from couriers for the sales team to facilitate shipping of goods to their customers;
- Manage the necessary documentation of all import/export activities;
- Deal with export licenses and certificates of origin.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication, networking and negotiation skills;
- Good team player with the ability to motivate and persuade others;
- Good UK and Global geographic knowledge;
- Ability to react and adjust quickly to changing conditions within a fast paced environment;
- Accurate with detail;
- Broad knowledge of Air Export/ Import processes including Customs and Security procedures;
- Good level MS Outlook and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Power-point);
- Entrepreneurial, innovative spirit, looking to new opportunities to promote business growth;
- Be Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative;
- Understanding of client SLA’s, Standard Operating Procedures.
