Operations Controller Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Operations Controller to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Flight planning;
- Control costs in line with budgets and propose initiatives that will support cost reductions;
- Operational briefs;
- Comply with all relevant legislation covering the fleet, ensuring all vehicles are maintained in line with legal requirements,
- Complete all required transport KPI reports in line with relevant time scales;
- Maintaining good communication with transport providers to ensure late collections and delivery failures are avoided;
- To communicate issues to Shift Manager in a timely manner to minimise disruption to the schedule;
- Airops data entry;
- Issuing instructions to designated staff to maintain a smooth flow of inbound and outbound work;
- Efficiently managing the outbound schedule to ensure collection and delivery times are met;
- Aircrew scheduling;
- FTL compliance;
- Crew flight briefs;
- Planning resources in line with budget to ensure activities are achieved, including agency bookings, overtime and holidays;
- Assisting with operational procedures, including emergency response plans.
Requirements:
- Flight planning;
- Operational briefs;
- Excellent customer and communication skills with a commitment to continuous improvement;
- Experience with Food Safety standards preferred;
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations;
- Able to work to tight deadlines;
- Ability to plan, prioritise and organise;
- Be able to demonstrate a courteous and professional attitude towards customers and third party hauliers;
- Knowledge of the transport legislation and European Working Time Directive;
- Should have good oral and written communication skills;
- PC Literate in Word, Excel and Outlook;
- Crew flight briefs;
- FTL compliance;
- Ability to prioritise work based on scheduling and available resources;
- Experience and good working knowledge of Autostore and RF kit.
