Conference Producer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Conference Producer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Identifying compelling conference themes;
- Construct and write high quality, content driven progress by conducting thorough desktop, telephone and face to face research;
- Ensuring that the event is delivered on time and within budget;
- Project manage the event from concept up to the day of delivery;
- To research, develop and manage commercially successful conferences;
- To write marketing copy and collateral, including web copy and brochures to help promote events externally;
- Writing interesting and original conference programmes to attract industry leading speakers;
- Creating strong relationships with industry representatives and speakers to advance your reputation in the market;
- Briefing and working closely with the sales and marketing teams to maximise the success of the event;
- Create engaging, content driven and innovative agenda’s;
- Supporting the sales team in identifying potential sponsors and additional revenue streams;
- Building relationships with key industry professionals;
- Producing industry-leading conference programmes based on research and discussions with industry professionals, NGOs and trade associations;
- Analysing information you have researched and extracting the relevant details;
- Content development & strategy.
Requirements:
- A 1st/2.1 classification from a Top 30 University – social science, legal, humanities degrees or science based are preferable;
- Client-facing and articulate;
- A commercial approach, good business acumen and excellent presentation;
- Sales & marketing – thoroughly briefing the sales and marketing teams and monitoring campaign progress to ensure revenue targets are met;
- Experience of successfully meeting deadlines and budgets;
- Excellent negotiation/persuasion skills;
- Project management skills; able to manage time, workload and internal stakeholders;
- 6-24 months conference production experienced, gained in a commercial environment;
- P&L management – monitoring campaign revenues and costs and ensuring that targets are met, and profit margins are delivered;
- Confident talking over the phone, able to question & discuss topics with senior professional;
- At least 12 months’ experience working in commercial B2B events, publishing, or other relevant areas such as market research or media;
- Outstanding research skills and writing ability;
- Inquisitive and creative nature;
- A strong entrepreneurial mindset and ability to identify new business opportunities;
- Excellent communication skills, enjoy building relationships and developing understanding.
