Account Representative

The Account Representative pursues relationships with potential new accounts and seeks business expansion opportunities with current clients. Develops relationships with smaller to mid-sized clients in order to increase revenue. Being an Account Representative may support higher-level account managers working with larger accounts. Has detailed knowledge of products and services being offered and ensures that products and services consistently meet client needs. In addition, Account Representative may visit client locations periodically to ensure client satisfaction and promote ongoing contract renewal. Provides sales quotations and responds to requests for proposals. Typically requires a bachelor’s degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Being an Account Representative work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Working as an Account Representative typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Create customer pricing strategies;
  • Maintain a valid driver’s licence with approval for the Company’s insurance company for driving suitability;
  • Communicate feedback to management on trends in the market;
  • Effectively manage time to deliver optimal territory results;
  • Follow and establish company SOP and ISO 9001 guidelines;
  • Attend local and national tradeshows;
  • Maintain and continuously expand customer base with emphasis on major accounts;
  • Develop, manage and execute the sales strategy and sales plans to achieve quarterly and annual goals;
  • Deliver technical presentations on products to customers;
  • Communicate major customer information, revenue target progress and products forecasts with accuracy and on a regular basis;
  • Ensure accurate information is presented to the customer regarding product specifications and company information.

Requirements:

  • Located in London (or could be in Belgium, Netherlands or Spain);
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent organisational skills;
  • Knowledge of liquid handling robotics would highly beneficial but not essential;
  • Fluent in French (mother tongue or 100% fluency ESSENTIAL);
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time;
  • Experience selling genomic products or services;
  • Proven scientific sales experience;
  • Ability to manage large amounts of technical data and documentation;
  • Degree (or equivalent qualification) in any Life Science subject area.
